Cleveland Police Department officers responded to a robbery at the Goodwill Store, located at 220 Grove Avenue SW in Cleveland. Witnesses advised officers that the suspect fled on foot and ran toward the Village Green. Officers proceeded in that direction where they located a male near AMO Recovery matching the description of the suspect. Cleveland Police Department Officer Stephen Warner detained the suspect later identified as William Earl Ball III, DOB, age 42. Another officer located clothing that the suspect ditched in the area. Sgt. Ruth located a Goodwill Bag with a pair of shoes and a brown paper bag which contained cash believed to be taken from Goodwill. Detective Daniel Leamon responded to the scene to process evidence and interview witnesses. Detective Leamon obtained a full confession from the suspect. Ball was charged with Aggravated Robbery.

Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson received notice that the Bradley County Sheriff Office’s Jail has once again passed inspection and has been certified by the Tennessee Corrections Institute (T.C.I.). The final inspection took place November 7 th at which time Watson was informed.
T.C.I. arrived at the jail for their yearly jail inspection which took approximately one full day to complete with all jail records being made available for examination. The inspection process also included insuring inmates had proper medical care and hygiene items, while also checking the cleanliness and sanitation of the jail building.
Earlier this year the sheriff’s office jail was inspected by the United States Marshal’s Service (U.S.M.S.) due to the agency’s federal contract to house federal inmates. The jail received high marks throughout the evaluation phase and exceeded federal standards.

A Wednesday morning rockslide has damaged the TVA’s Ocoee #2 water flume, which sits high above US-64 in Polk County.
The TVA said in a tweet they are assessing the damage. The intake gate to the flume closed immediately, according to the TVA. The water is being diverted down the river.
No injuries were reported, and no downstream damage was reported.

The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting roadside sobriety safety checkpoints during the evening hours at various locations in Bradley County. These will take place on Tuesday, November 14th, and Friday, November 17th.
Impaired driving is a serious crime that kills more than 16,000 people and injures 305,000 others every year in the United States. Sheriff’s deputies will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment. Additionally, they will target those who operate a vehicle while impaired and take corrective actions for other violations observed while ensuring the protection of all motorists.
According to Sheriff Eric Watson, the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office recognizes that sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools in the battle against impaired driving. These efforts to stop impaired and irresponsible driving are paid for with grant money from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.
