From NewsChannel 9…

Volkswagen now says a total of four employees have been confirmed to have COVID-19.

Spokeswoman Amanda Plecas tells NewsChannel 9 in an email that two new employee cases were confirmed.

Plecas says the two employees have not entered the plant since May 20th.

Plecas says “CDC protocols were followed in rapid-response, and all areas that may have been exposed to these individuals received an additional deep cleaning and disinfecting.”

The four people are on medical leave in quarantine for the recommended 14 days, Plecas says, and she says badge access was deactivated for all four of them and they cannot return to the plant until given medical clearance.

Plecas adds that all potentially exposed employees were wearing proper PPE when around the affected individuals – each has been contacted and tested as a precautionary measure.

From the Cleveland Daily Banner…

Larry Bowers reports: Cleveland Utilities’ involvement in the widening of Highway 60/Georgetown Road will get an update, according to Jimmy Isom, vice president of CU’s Electric Division.

Isom’s report came during a recent virtual session of the Cleveland Board of Public Utilities.

CU will be receiving revised contracts for the widening  from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, Isom said.

These revisions are due to street lighting being left off the original plan by TDOT. The street lighting and the electric utility relocation were separated into two contracts.

Once the new contracts are received, CU will place the order for the new steel pole structures requested by TDOT, and previously approved by the board.

This request was made due to the anticipated long delivery time that could delay the project if ordered by the contractor. The letting of the project is presently set for Dec. 11., and the poles are scheduled to be delivered 16 to 18 weeks after final approval of drawings.
