In news today…

Patrick Spangler has been named the new principal of Bradley Central High School.

Spangler has been the Business Academy administrator at Bradley Central, he was also the work-based learning coordinator as well as Business Technology teacher and assistant basketball coach for nine years. Spangler told Mix 104.1 last night:

““I am so incredibly honored and humbled to become the next principal of Bradley Central High School.  My passion and experiences as a former student, athlete, teacher, administrator, and coach at BCHS paved the way for this opportunity. I am fully invested and committed to continuing the rich tradition of Bradley Central High School.”

Spangler is the son of Ron Spangler the former principal of Ocoee Middle School.

Mix 104.1 also received this quote from Patrick’s dad Ron Spangler

“Patrick has always bled black and gold. He is young, motivated, driven and has a heart to serve students. Sherry and I are so excited and proud of him. “

The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees will consider a proposal to increase undergraduate in-state tuition and mandatory fees for undergraduate programs of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga during the Board’s meeting on June 21.

Tennessee law requires boards of public universities to give public notice of proposed increases to tuition and mandatory fees charged to in-state undergraduate students at least 15 days prior to holding a public meeting to adopt the increases.

Individuals are permitted to provide comments during the 15-day period.

CHI Memorial Medical Group is pleased to welcome Lawrence Swan, M.D., and Harrison Sims, III, M.D., to CHI Memorial Family Practice Associates – Cleveland.

Dr. Swan received his medical degree from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, and completed a family medicine residency at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, SC.  He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Sims received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.  He completed a general surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, and a family medicine residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.  He is a member of the American Board of Family Practice and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
