Tim Siniard reports: A Germany-based steel coatings company has leased a facility in Cleveland, bringing with it up to 18 to 25 new jobs.

Voestalpine Eifeler Coatings, which provides coatings for steel products such as appliances and aerospace equipment, was founded in Dusseldorf, Germany, in 1986.

The move into the Cleveland market represents a $3.8 million investment by the company.

The 35,000-square-foot facility, located on 3450 Old Tasso Road N.E., is the former location of Precision Pulley & Idler, Inc.’s, Southeast Service Center, which relocated to a larger building on 1735 Hardeman Lane N.E.

Although VEC has taken possession of the building, they are not yet up to full production.
