Every county in Tennessee recorded unemployment rates below five percent in September, according to the latest data from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. September also marked the second consecutive month that rates decreased in each of the state’s 95 counties.

Bradley County’s unemployment rate was 3.1%, down from 3.5% in August.

Polk County’s unemployment rate was 3.1%, down from 3.7% in August.

McMinn’s unemployment rate was 3.7%, down from 4.1% in August.

Rhea County’s unemployment rate was 4.0%, down from 4.7%

Hamilton County is currently the lowest in our area at 3.0%, down from 3.4% in August.

Across the state, Williamson County continued to have the lowest rate at 2.1%, which was down 0.2 of a percentage point from August’s rate of 2.3.

Perry County had the highest unemployment rate in Tennessee in at 4.9%.
