From NewsChannel 9: A Clarksville, Tennessee man was arrested after a missing 28-year-old’s remains were found off of a South Florida highway in January, according to police.
Police say 29-year-old Brandon Jenkins reportedly stabbed Gianni Coto to death on Jan. 21 in Tamarac, Florida. Coto was reported missing Jan. 25, detectives say.
Investigators found that Coto had gone to his estranged wife’s home on Jan. 21. His wife, Trinity Bownes, as well as Brandon Jenkins, were both present at the scene.
The investigation showed that both Coto and Bownes were arguing and during that argument, Coto was murdered by method of stabbing. Police say that Jenkins was apart of the occurrence.
According to police, after the murder Coto’s body was buried on the edge of State Road 60 in Indian River County. His remains were located on Jan. 30.
Jenkins was arrested Friday, while Bownes turned herself in to police in California.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
