From Fox 17 in Nashville: Tennessee gas prices continue to rise but the state is still among the cheapest in the nation to fill up according to automotive group AAA.

The gas price report from AAA states Tennessee’s average price per gallon of gas is $3.38, 26 cents more than a month ago and 8 cents more than last week. Although this is the 4th straight week of increases at the pump, the state’s average cost per gallon is still 46 cents less than last year.

Ranked as the 10th least-expensive market in the nation based on average prices per gallon, AAA spokesperson Megan Cooper says Tennesseans should expect prices to continue to rise given the U.S. price of crude oil has reached a new 2023 high per barrel.

The least expensive metros to fill up include Knoxville ($3.29), Kingsport ($3.30), and Memphis ($3.31) while the most-expensive can be found in Cleveland ($3.50), Nashville ($3.49), and Clarksville ($3.49).

Nationally, the average price for a gallon of gas is $3.67 per AAA.
