From Local 3 News: Sunset Memorial Gardens has been fined by the state for not keeping the grounds and mausoleum at the cemetery in proper repair.

 

The January Disciplinary Action from the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance fined Sunset Memorial Gardens a $15,000 civil penalty and an additional $1,163.25 for investigation costs.

 

The report said that the cemetery “Failed to maintain cemetery grounds and mausoleum so as to reflect respect for the memory of the dead in keeping with the reasonable sensibilities of survivors of those whose remains are interred in the cemetery and unsafe conditions.”
