Lake Forest Middle School assistant softball coach Hubert Conley died tragically on Friday, October 9th during a trip to Pensacola, Florida.

According to ABC affiliate WEARTV, Conley drowned after getting caught in a rip current about 5 miles east of Pensacola Beach around 5:00 PM.

Conley was the assistant softball coach at Bradley Central before moving to Lake Forest Middle this year to do the same job there.

No other details are available at this time.

Early voting for the federal and state general elections begins on Wednesday in Tennessee. In Bradley County, the early polling places will be open Monday through Friday from 9 AM until 6 PM, Saturday 9 AM till 4 PM. Locations are at Bradley Square Mall in the former Bath and Body Works. The Bradley County Election Commission office downtown, and on the southside at the former BB&T Bank building between Advance Auto Parts and Walgreens.

A driver is now safe after The Chattanooga Fire department made a speedy rescue Sunday morning.

According to the fire department, the car was partially submerged and was upside down.

The fire department says that the driver was able to move inside the vehicle and keep their head out of the water.

Firefighters removed the door and helped the driver out of the car.

There were no significant injuries.
