The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew Bryan Garman on a charge of
Fighting or Baiting of Animals after he posted a video of two dogs fighting at his residence with “He did good” as the caption.
At approximately 4:24 p.m. on March 6th, a video was posted on Garman’s Facebook account showing two dogs fighting. In the video, one dog was on top of the other, pinning it down and biting it on the neck area. The caption posted with the video read “He did good”, in reference to the dog on top, which was later determined to belong to the family at the residence where the dog fight occurred. There were no attempts made by spectators to stop the dog fight during the recording of this video. The video was message to the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page by a concerned citizen and from there was sent to the BCSO Criminal Investigations Division, at which time Sheriff Steve Lawson ordered an investigation. Detectives at the BCSO reviewed the case wit the District Attorney’s office, charging Garman with one count of Fighting or Baiting of Animals. Deputies from the BCSO made contact with Garman and have taken him into custody at the Bradley County

The Executive Staff of the Cleveland Police Department are pleased to announce that Stacy Smith has been selected to serve alongside Chief Mark Gibson as the Assistant Chief of Police. Our administration worked closely together to make this important decision.
Assistant Chief Smith was promoted from his former role as Operations Captain in which he served since October of 2015. Smith is a 20-year veteran of the Cleveland Police Department, beginning his law enforcement career in June of 1999. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of specialized investigatory positions, along with fulfilling various supervisory roles. He has been recognized for many awards and commendations.

Officials confirmed two new cases of COVID-19 within the state of Tennessee on Sunday.
Nashville Mayor John Cooper confirmed in a news conference a Nashville woman is the first case within Davidson County.
Mayor Cooper says the woman is demonstrating mild symptoms and currently self-quarantined at home.
Officials don’t believe this new case is travel-related.
Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris confirmed a case of COVID-19 in the Memphis area in a news conference.
A health official said the Shelby County case involves a person who recently traveled out-of-state.

The Early Childhood Education program at Cleveland State Community College hosted the 16th Annual Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss Celebration on Saturday.
During the event, Avery Miller spoke with Mix 104-1’s Dewayne Williams, after winning the 70th child prize for being the 70th child in line for the event. The prize was awarded in honor of the 70-year-old featured Dr. Seuss book, “If I Ran the Zoo.”
Cleveland State Community College President Dr. Bill Seymour reportedly had his photo taken with the Grinch during the event as well.
Volunteers also read Dr. Seuss books to the children, and each child was given a goody bag with one Dr. Seuss book of their choosing.
