Topping our news today…

On Thursday evening, the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of a rumored social media threat that involved a future shooting at Bradley Central High School. After investigation, the sheriff’s office determined the rumored threat non-existent.

However, on Friday morning, Sheriff Watson along with School Resource Officer Robbie Hair were made aware of a separate threat which led to the arrest of three juveniles. After talking with multiple witnesses, three juveniles have been arrested for verbally making statements to perform a school shooting. Those students have been transported to Bradley County Juvenile Center and are now awaiting a court appearance.

Sheriff Watson stated his agency investigates all threats and will not tolerate any threats toward our kids, schools, and the community, even if the threat was said as a joke. His agency expressed their appreciation to the students who came forward with the information that led to the arrests of those responsible for making the threatening statements.

The statement, provided by Tennova Healthcare-Cleveland Public Information Officer Stephanie Austin, said plans were “on track” to file their application with the state in March.

Coleman Foss serves as chief executive officer of Tennova-Healthcare in Cleveland.

Cleveland City Schools is launching Here Come the Bus® – a free school bus tracking app for parents and students that allows them to view the real-time location of a child’s bus from their smartphone, tablet or computer. They can receive a customized notification when the bus is close to their designated bus stop. No more long waits at the bus stop in the snow or rain. Missing the school bus should be a thing of the past.

For security reasons only parents will be given passwords and be able to use their students’ IDs to log into the system. The parents can then choose who to share access with, whether that be a grandparent or others.

When the registration form has been completed, an email will be sent with instructions to activate your smartphone, laptop or computer.
