The TBI is investigating an officer involved shooting in southeast Bradley County.

BCSO Deputies responded to 2854 McDaris Circle SE on an initial call from a female of an unwanted armed subject at her residence.

While enroute to the scene the call was updated to a stabbing incident.  The caller stated the suspect, a white male, was armed with a knife and had stabbed himself in the chest.

When deputies arrived they attempted to subdue the man who was still armed with a knife.

They deployed a tazer but were unable to stop him.  A single deputy then fired two shots to the chest of the suspect.  He was later pronounced dead at the scene by Bradley County EMS.

Per policy, in the case of an officer involved shooting, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations went on site and will lead the investigation at the BCSO’s request through the District Attorney’s office. Their Violent Crimes Response Team was enroute from Nashville to assist as well.

Further details will be provided by the TBI when available.
