During yesterday’s Cleveland City Council meeting, Mayor Kevin Brooks gave an update on the former First Tennessee Bank building. Mayor Brooks met with Forest Preston, the owner of the building, and Preston’s attorney.
After the meeting, the City Council received a letter from Cleveland Development Enterprises, where Preston is the president, asking the city to create a mutually acceptable contract.

The council discussed the letter and intends to create a contract that clearly states the purchase price.

Two contracts will be created, one with Cleveland Development Enterprises and one with the Cleveland City School system for the use of their building.

The next step for the Mayor and the Council is to start drafting the contracts.
