Tim Siniard reports: A Bradley County Sheriff’s Office corrections officer was arrested by the Tennessee Highway Patrol Monday morning for allegedly pointing a firearm at a man after their pickup trucks collided on Interstate 75.

Blake Wetherill, 21, of Ooltewah, was arrested for aggravated assault and transported to the Bradley County Jail. 

After the collision, both drivers reportedly exited off Exit 20 and entered the Brewer’s Exxon parking lot, where they began arguing, resulting in Wetherill allegedly pointing a gun at Eric Williams, 21, of Calhoun, according to a THP report.

On Tuesday, Alana Shell, public information officer for the BCSO, told the Cleveland Daily Banner that Sheriff Steve Lawson had suspended Wetherill without pay until further notice.

On November 15, 2021, a narcotics investigation resulted in the arrest of five Bradley County Residents after a search of a home located on Old Georgetown Street N.W. The search led to the seizure of numerous suspected Fentanyl Pills, Methamphetamine, Buprenorphine / Naloxone, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

An investigation that began several months ago focused on suspicions that fentanyl and counterfeit pills containing fentanyl were being sold.

Mason Kynsal Johnson was charged with Possession of Fentanyl for Resale, and Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia. Johnson was also arrested for two outstanding warrants for the charges of Failure to Appear on a previous Domestic Assault charge and a previous Criminal Trespass Charge.

Chelby Lane Harris was charged with Simple Possession of Fentanyl, Simple Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Simple Possession of Buprenorphine/Naloxone. Harris was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from McMinn County for a Schedule II Drug Charge. 

Samantha Channing Mowery was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Angela Dawn Taylor was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Malachi Shahada Matthew Akhtab was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Cole William Miles Gaddis was arrested on an outstanding warrant for Violation of Probation.

Additional Charges on several of the individuals involved are forthcoming.

A vehicle sought in an Amber Alert involving a missing 3-year-old Tennessee boy has been spotted in western Arizona, authorities said Tuesday.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the vehicle was seen on State Route 95 heading toward Parker, Arizona near the California border.

Noah Clare was reported missing on Nov. 6 in Gallatin, Tennessee.

Authorities said the boy is believed to be in the company of 35-year-old Jacob “Jake” Clare, a family member who is wanted by police for aggravated kidnapping and custodial interference and may be armed.

Tennessee officials issued an Endangered Child Alert for Noah on Nov. 9 and elevated it to an Amber Alert on Tuesday.
