It is with great sadness that we were informed of the passing of our friend, Tripp Hathcock. Tripp is the son of Dr. Lindsay and Peggy Hathcock. Please join us in extending thoughts and prayers to this dear family.

In news today…

The Cleveland CIty Council met on Monday covering several items of business. The Fiscal Year 2023 budget presentation was made, with the proposed budget being balanced and with no tax increases included. The new budget serves police, fire, roads, infrastructure, and many other items, including a 3.5% salary increase for eligible employees. The Police Department has requested new cameras to automatically detect license plates, which can use a shared database if the city becomes a member of the system. There are protocols in place to protect personal information and civil liberties. This same system is used in Chattanooga. The Council also voted to observe Juneteenth as a holiday on Monday, June 20th. As a result, city offices will be closed on this day.

On Tuesday, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee released the following statement on the 2021-22 Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) state-level testing results:

“These results mark encouraging strides for our students and also show the positive impact of early interventions to combat learning loss. I commend Tennessee teachers for their work to help students make academic gains, close achievement gaps and prepare students for life beyond the classroom.”

Wacker’s Charleston location will hold two job fairs this week to fill 50 positions at the company.

The job fairs will be Wednesday, June 15 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm and Saturday, June 18 from 9:00am to 11:00am.

The jobs offer competitive pay and benefits from the first day, according to Wacker.

The jobs range from Technical Operators to Project Engineers to Logistics Coordinator and more.
