The Bradley County School District is excited to announce their Future Ready Program with 1:1 Technology.
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in at least one positive thing: a much greater realization for the need to have access to technology for a rich educational experience. The Technology Department in Bradley County Schools had a vision and worked with the leadership team to develop a 1:1 initiative that would prepare the students of Bradley County to be Future Ready.
The BCS Technology Department purchased 6,000 new devices last year that set their system up to be ready to go 1:1 in the 2020-2021 school year. This number doubles the number of devices in the BCS District.
Bradley County Schools’ Future Ready program supports students and learning by providing one device for each student in the district. The plan focuses on iPads for Kindergarten and 1st Grade students and Chromebooks for grades 2-12.

Chattanooga firefighters are working to clear smoke following a small fire at a local hospital on Tuesday evening.
It happened at Erlanger on E. 3rd Street shortly after 5:00 p.m.
CFD spokesperson Lindsey Rogers says a small fire in a third floor closet at the hospital was extinguished by hospital staff.
Fire crews were working to clear the smoke from the building.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Chattanooga Airport’s new 1,300-space parking garage may not open til the 21st, but that didn’t stop Terry Hart and the board from partaking in a ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony after Monday’s board meeting.
Mr. Hart said the project was completed both on time, and within the budget set. He said it should open on Wednesday, and that the rental cars will not move in tll August.
The fourth floor of the garage can be used as an observation deck, and board member Michael Mallen said it could be utilized to create an interest in aviation among children.
In conjunction with opening the parking garage, the airport is redesignating one of the empty parking lots on Airport Road into a cell phone lot. This lot would be reserved for people who are coming to pick up people who just got off a flight.
