From WDEF Channel 12…

Gov. Bill Lee’s latest version of the Covid-19 executive order lifts the limit of public gatherings in the state.

The new version of the order takes Tennessee through February.

The Governor had limited public gatherings to just 10 people through the holidays, but now says the ban served its purpose.

The new order extends restrictions on school sporting events. It allows schools to continue sports (but doesn’t require it). However, practices and games cannot have fans in attendance. But it does make exceptions for family members, including grandparents.

The order continues to encourage (but not mandate) people working from home and not attending church, weddings and funerals in person.

In news today…

The Bradley County Commission met Tuesday covering several items of business. The Road Department’s social media policy was turned in and entered into the minutes. Bill Winters and Dennis Epperson were reappointed to the Cleveland/Bradley County Community Service Agency. Director of Schools Dr. Linda Cash discussed the PIE Center fire. The portion of the building that caught fire was in an area which was about to be torn down. There were no injuries. The fire appears to have been caused by a spark caught by the wind. Despite the incident, that part of the building will still be torn down on schedule.
