Villa Drive off 25th Street near McDonalds has been renamed Hank Smith Way by the City of Cleveland. The name change came officially in a noontime ceremony at McDonalds on 25th Street. The late Hank Smith was the original franchise owner of Cleveland and other stores. Mayor Kevin Brooks introduced members of the City Council.  Councilman Dale Hughes told of Smiths great support of education and of his tenure as President of the Chamber of Commerce. Special guests were Mayor Emeritus Tom and Sandra Rowland, long time friends of the Smith family. Mark Smith, current McDonald’s owner, recalled when Rowland was with WCLE in the early 70’s and asked to introduce Ronald McDonald, he bought a new suit for the occasion.
