In news today…

The Cleveland Lions Club, the Bradley County Bar Association, Mix 104.1 and MixTV.TV will host a debate among the candidates for State House District 24 Republican Primary candidates tonight at 6:30pm at Cleveland State. The candidates include Israel Farless, Kevin Raper, Rex Wagner, and Troy Weathers. Live coverage on Talk 101.3 The Buzz and MixTV.TV presented by Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

Also in news today…

On Friday, July 15th, at 6:40PM, a complainant, Kylie Clayton, told officers that she and her boyfriend, William Trey Branson, were walking the Greenway with their two young daughters, when they were assaulted by a blonde female on a bicycle. A male suspect, who was with the female suspect, also began assaulting Branson. When the suspect couple noticed witnesses watching the assault, they fled on the greenway towards Cleveland High School.

Ms. Clayton, along with one of her children, and Branson had visible injuries. Cleveland Police Department officers were able to identify the suspects as George Eady and Katie Moore.

Eady is being charged with assault and Moore is being charged with two counts of assault and two counts of child abuse.

In news today…

The Bradley County Commission met on Monday covering several items of business. During the meeting, Commissioner Winters recognized the passing of Don Goff, who was a former principal of George R. Stuart Elementary School and several other schools. He had been having health issues for over a decade. His funeral will be on August 6th. A resolution was passed authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Southeast Tennessee Development District for professional services for project development and planning, grant writing, and grant administrative services for the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Division of Water Resources ARP collective grant. It was also announced that the PIE Center Open House will take place on July 21st.
