The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says a missing person case has now turned into a murder investigation. They are asking for your help in bringing the person or people responsible to justice.

On January 18th, the sheriff’s office says a person located a body off of an embankment on Athens Road, near Chestuee Creek near Calhoun.

An autopsy revealed the body is that of Benny Locke, and revealed he was murdered.

Locke’s family reported him missing on December 11th, saying they had last spoken with him seven days before that. They also reported his blue Ford Ranger was missing.

Detectives determined Locke’s cell phone was last used on December 7th. Detectives determined through surveillance video that on that same day, he bought items at the Dollar General store in Ocoee, a little after noon.

Deputies located Locke’s Ford Ranger on December 14th, on Sloan Gap Road near Cookson Creek.

If you have any information concerning this case, please contact Detective Kevin Cole at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. 423-338-8215.

Nokian Tyres announced Monday that it is adding 150 jobs to its plant in Dayton, Tennessee, and says it will finish its next phase of hiring by the end of March.

In an email release, the company says it is “pursuing team members to work in its mixing, tire production, maintenance and logistics areas, and those interested in performing tasks related to general factory overhead and quality control.”

Nokian Tyres’ release says the growing workforce will enable the factory to expand from two production shifts to four, which it says is a necessary step as the company Nokian Tyres seeks to satisfy rising demand for its products in North America, including the Nokian Tyres One, an all-season passenger tire the company launched in January.

Nokian Tyres says it plans to hire approximately 400 employees to produce tires and oversee operations at the Dayton factory by 2023. It eventually aims to make as many as four million tires per year at the facility.
