From the Cleveland Daily Banner…

Tim Siniard reports: A Bradley County man and woman are facing multiple aggravated animal cruelty charges after deputies discovered several diseased, malnourished dogs ⏤ including a deceased dog ⏤ allegedly abandoned at their former residence.

An affidavit of complaint obtained by the Cleveland Daily Banner from the Bradley County Sessions Court states Michael Angelo Thompson, 49, and Karen M. Wilson, 50, were charged separately by the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office four counts each of aggravated cruelty to animals.

They were transported to the Bradley County Jail and released later on $40,000 appearance bonds.

Thompson was arrested June 21 and Wilson on June 11, the same day deputies investigated their residence on Dixie Drive.

Deputies notified the BCSO’s Criminal Investigation Division and the 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Additionally, Steve Moreland,  a member of the Bradley County SPCA board, examined the dogs and found them “malnourished” and “not in good shape at all.”
