In news today…

On Wednesday, November 24th, at 1:56 PM, a black male walked into Southern Heritage Bank on Dalton Pike in Cleveland, brandished a weapon, and demanded U.S. currency from the bank teller. The male was given cash and fled the scene on foot towards Buchanan Road. He was wearing a dark colored Hollister hoodie sweatshirt, dark pants, black toboggan, and white tennis shoes with neon coloring.

Anyone with information about the crime and/or the suspect is urged to contact the Bradley County 911 Center at 423-476-7511. If you have contact with the suspect, please dial 9-1-1. Confidential tips are also welcome via Cleveland Police Department Facebook inbox.

The labor statistics for October are in. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for Tennessee was 4.2%, down from 4.4% in September, and down from 7.8% one year ago.

Moving closer to home, in Bradley County the unemployment rate was 3.1%, down from 3.2% in September, and down from 7% one year ago. McMinn County was at 3.4%, down from 3.6% in September, and down from 7.2% one year ago. Meigs County was at 3.6%, down from 3.7% in September, and down from 8.5% one year ago. Polk County’s unemployment rate was at 3.2%, down from 3.3% in September, and down from 7.4% one year ago. Rhea County was at 4.1%, down from 4.3% in September, and down from 8.9% one year ago. Hamilton County’s unemployment rate was 3.2%, down from 3.3% in September, and down from 7.1% one year ago.
