Lee University’s Campus Choir has been invited to sing as featured guests during the Annual Easter Sunrise Service at Arlington National Cemetery’s amphitheater in Arlington, Virginia, hosted by Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall.

“This past year the Lee University Campus Choir has had the opportunity to minister in song all over the Southeast,” said Dr. Luke Gambill, director of Campus Choir. “We are also traveling to Israel this coming summer to minister all over the Holy Land, but the opportunity to spread the gospel through passionate and worshipful song to our nation, at an event such as this, is a high honor, one that we do not take lightly.”

Campus Choir was invited by Scott Ingram, the chaplain at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall and a Campus Choir alum, to be a part of this special service. The choir will also be joined by singers from the Samoan congregation that meets at a sister chapel on post.

Campus Choir, a 70-plus-member ensemble, is known for international ministry, but for some decades, it has also held a heart for the United States, going back to an era with Dr. David Horton, a previous Campus Choir director. Through this event, Campus Choir believes they are both fulfilling and walking in their calling and legacy to be an encourager to this country with the gospel of Jesus Christ through the ministry of song.

The sunrise service will take place at 6:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, April 9. The public is invited, and it will be available for livestream viewing at https://www.facebook.com/jbmhh.

After the 6:30 a.m. Easter Sunrise Service, Campus Choir will sing in a combined Protestant/Gospel Easter Worship Service at 11 a.m. in the chapel at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall.

“Our prayer is we will shine the light of Christ – that believers will be encouraged and those seeking will find hope in the resurrection of our Savior,” said Gambill. “May we make Lee University proud, but even more, may our Resurrected King find joy in our worship during this special day.”
