Channel 3- CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -All lanes of I-75 north are clear this morning following a multi-vehicle crash earlier Thursday. It happened around mile marker 11 shortly after 6:30 p.m. According to TDOT, multiple vehicles were involved, blocking some of the right lanes. We will update you on any new details as they become available. Channel 3- UPDATE: The McMinn County Sheriff’s Office has identified the self-proclaimed “Waster” who they say, sent strange letters to more than 50 churches in Tennessee and North Georgia. Channel 3 will not release the man’s name because charges have not been filed. According to McMinn Sheriff Joe Guy and Monroe Sheriff Tommy Jones, letters began to appear at church buildings in their counties 14 days ago, and have since that time have been reported being left at church buildings from Blount County, TN south into Murray Co, GA.   The Chattanoogan- The Cleveland Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the block of 1000 Church Street S.E., Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. to find a house with “heavy fire” coming from the kitchen area. Engines 1, 3 and 4, Ladder 4 and Squad 1 responded. Units arrived on scene at 7:47 a.m., two minutes after the tone sounded. The fire was reported under control 8:08 a.m. and the last unit departed the scene at 10:23 a.m. Battalion Commander Robert Gaylor reported there were no injuries. The loss to property was estimated at $30,000 and $20,000 to contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation. According to the fire report, the structure was under renovation. A roofing crew was replacing shingles and the owner stated he had been there the night before to replace some leaky faucets. The occupants said they did not use the stove or kitchen appliances and everything was normal when they left for work.? The Cleveland Daily Banner- Local professionals have been helping students from Bradley Central High School and Walker Valley High School explore their career options in a new way. Some 145 high school juniors visited local businesses on Wednesday as participants in the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce’s youth job shadowing program. This opportunity came on the heels of a similar event for students of Cleveland High School and Tennessee Christian Preparatory School last week. With career possibilities ranging from nursing to auto mechanics, students were each assigned professionals to work with to see what a day looks like in that career. Job shadowing is just one of the Chamber’s efforts to help local students. Other opportunities include a youth leadership program and career fairs for ninth-grade students. News into station- Members of Cleveland Middle School’s award winning dance team are going to New York City to take part in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Mayor Tom Rowland and Vice Mayor George Poe met dance team members Thursday at the school. Mayor Rowland gave each member a certificate making them Cleveland’s ambassadors during their week in the Big Apple. The parade will be from 9 a.m. until noon on Thanksgiving Day on NBC television. Kelly Owens, dance team director, said the eleven members will leave Saturday for a week of rehearsing and touring New York. They will see a Broadway show, the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and other famous locations. The CMS team are grouped in the Spirit Of America section of the parade. They will perform a special choreographed show as part of their parade appearance. Each team member will receive a commemorative Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performance team jacket, pin, and travel bag. The team received an invitation to be in the parade in July. TheCleveland School Board approved the trip in August.
