The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance with a theft case.

The theft occurred on November 1, 2017 at residence located in northern Bradley County which resulted in a yellow Spider radio controlled lawn mower and a 4×4 utility trailer being stolen.

The sheriff’s office is offering a reward up to $500 for information that leads to the recovery of the stolen item and/or apprehension of the individual(s) involved.

Veterans Day  is only two days away, and Cleveland and Bradley County veterans and veteran organizations are looking forward to Saturday’s 11 a.m. Veterans Day program.

The ceremony this year will be held at Cleveland’s 1st Street Square, just off Inman Street downtown, near the Cleveland’s Elks Lodge.

The highlight of this Veterans Day program, as it has been in the past, is the presentation of the Raymond H. Miller Patriotic Award. Veteran and auxiliary member Mary Baier will make the announcement of this year’s recipient.

Veteran Steve Stewart, former commander of the American Legion Post 81, will be coordinating this year’s activities for the final time. He and Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland have been the coordinator and master of ceremonies respectfully for several decades.

Rowland stepped down last year, but he will be involved this year with a special presentation.

Stewart said Tuesday he has received considerable criticism for moving this year’s program to 1st Street Square.

Stewart emphasized this is, hopefully, a one-year situation.

Tennessee State Troopers confiscated 11 pounds of methamphetamine from a vehicle following a traffic stop in Nashville on Tuesday, according to a news release.

Trooper Donnie Clark stopped a gray 2014 Chevrolet Malibu on I-24 in Coffee County for a traffic violation. The driver, Shannon Baxter of Indianapolis, Indiana, was not cooperative in answering questions or behavior, and denied a request by Clark to search the vehicle.

A K-9 officer was deployed by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and gave a positive alert to drugs in the vehicle. Trooper Jason Boles responded to help Clark search the vehicle, and together they discovered 11 pounds of crystal meth packaged in five separate plastic containers, which had been concealed behind the back seats in the trunk area under the carpet.

Baxter and his passenger, Chanel Satter of Indianapolis, Indiana, were both arrested without incident on felony meth trafficking charges, and the case will be presented for federal prosecution, according to the release.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public’s help in finding a man charged with three murders who escaped a northwest Mississippi jail.

The state police agency has added 27-year-old Antoine Adams to its list of top 10 most wanted fugitives.

Police in Mississippi and Tennessee have been looking for Adams since he escaped a jail in Holly Springs, Mississippi, early Sunday.

The agency says Adams may have stolen a 2007 Chrysler 300, with Mississippi tag TAA-810.

A reward of up to $2,500 is offered for information leading to Adams’ arrest.
