Mix 104.1, Talk 101.3 The Buzz, and Mix 104.1 WCLE on Facebook will provide live coverage of the Bradley County Sheriff’s debate Saturday night at 6PM from Bradley Central High School’s Fine Arts Center. The candidates for Bradley County Sheriff, Eric Watson and Steve Lawson, will participate. The Bradley County Republican Party is sponsoring and organizing the debate. Our live coverage is presented by Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

An early morning crash I-75 in McMinn County claimed the life of a 33-year-old man Thursday.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Lt. John Harmon says that a GMC truck driven by Billy. J. Lett of Decatur, TN was traveling north on Interstate 75 when the vehicle left the road, hitting the guardrail.
The truck spun out of control, rolling and then striking a bridge pillar.
Lett was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the THP.

The Lee Saxophone Choir will present a concert on Monday, March 12, at 7:30 p.m. under the direction of Clint Schmitt, a part-time faculty member of the Lee University School of Music. The performance will take place in Squires Recital Hall, located in Lee’s Humanities Center.
The 14 group members will play together, as well as break into smaller ensembles. The concert will feature works by J.S. Bach, Duke Ellington, Louis Ganne, Paul Hindemith, William Pitts, and Fisher Tull.
This event is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.

The Bradley County Sheriff’s Office will continue its security and safety training sessions this evening.
The free event is set for 6 to 8 p.m. at Waterville Baptist Church, located at 4555 Dalton Pike in Cleveland.
The session is part of ongoing security and safety training to ensure worship services and public meetings remain safe. It will also offer a forum for attendees to discuss any safety issues recognized at their facility. Pre-registration is not required, and registration will be at the door.
According to BCSO Communications Director James Bradford, Friday’s session will include a brief presentation from 10th Judicial District Attorney General Stephen D. Crump.
In addition, George Campbell will offer familiarization of weaponry to include lethal and non-lethal weapons. This session will focus on weaponry that can be utilized with new and established security and safety teams.

Bradley county sheriff Eric Watson called a news conference Thursday afternoon to respond to criticism of him by a political action group.
The complaint was leveled by “Christians for Accountable Leadership.”
The organization put together a video which is on its web site, showing prisoners in street clothes, participating in a church service.
CAL says it put residents in danger.
Watson says the inmates were trustees who frequently leave the jail, and that there were deputies at the church with the inmates.
He claims “Christians for Accountable Leadership” is actually supporting his opponent in the republican primary, Steve Lawson.
