A two-year-old child was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning in Cleveland.

A dark-colored truck struck the child on Wilson Avenue SE and then left the scene according to authorities.

The child was standing in the street when he was “tapped” by the truck. He reportedly has a red spot on his abdomen from the incident.

The child was transported by ambulance to a Chattanooga hospital for examination and treatment.

The child is said to be in stable condition.

Three people have been killed in a single car after a collision between the vehicle and a train in McMinn County, the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed Thursday.

McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy says the crash happened just north of Calhoun.

The labor force estimates for May are in! The seasonally adjusted US unemployment rate for May was 3.8%, down from 3.9% in April, and down from 4.3% one year ago. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for Tennessee was 3.5%, which is the up from 3.4% in April, and down from 3.8% one year ago.

Moving closer to home, the unemployment rate for Bradley County was 3.1%, up from 3% in April, and down from 3.2% one year ago. For Polk County, the unemployment rate was 3.4%, the same as in April, and down from 4% one year ago.
