A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on crash at the intersection of County Road 410 and U.S. Highway 411 in McMinn County, Tennessee, on New Year’s Day.

Mark Hart, 69, was driving his motorcycle southbound in the northbound lane on U.S. 411 when he collided with a Chevrolet truck, driven by a 28-year-old woman.

Hart was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the shoulder of the road.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says he succumbed to his injuries on scene.

THP responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m.

The driver of the Chevrolet truck wasn’t injured.

East Ridge police have located the truck involved in a hit-and-run, but the driver hasn’t been found.

According to police, the truck struck a motorcyclist around 9 p.m. on December 31 in the 6400 block of Ringgold Road.

The truck fled through the parking lot of a nearby McDonalds and onto Ringgold Road westbound.

The truck reportedly traveled on McBrien Road northbound and possibly Spring Creek Road, according to police.

The victim suffered serious injuries and had his leg amputated.

The investigation is ongoing.

A man charged in last July’s deadly shooting at the Douglas Heights Apartments near the UTC campus has been arrested again.

Online court records show Chattanooga Police arrested Toddie Olerrial Woods on New Year’s Day on domestic assault charges.

NewsChannel 9 confirmed with the Hamilton County Jail that Woods has already bonded out at $10,000.

Woods and his brother Omerrieal are both charged in the deadly July 14th incident.
