In news today…

Detectives have arrested Carl Dewayne Howard, age 54, of Charleston, TN for his involvement in a recent home burglary.  The burglary occurred in mid-November at a residence in the area of Chilcutt Rd., which resulted in the homeowner reporting several thousands of dollars worth of items stolen. Upon investigating multiple tips, detectives were directed to Howard’s residence in Charleston, TN, which led to the discovery of stolen items inside a van on the property. Howard was arrested after leading detectives on a brief foot pursuit while also trying to destroy evidence. Detectives observed Howard throwing a clear plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance believed to be methamphetamine, which was later seized along with drug paraphernalia after the arrest. Further search of the property resulted in additional stolen items being found from the burglary in the Chilcutt Rd. area.

From the Cleveland Daily Banner…

Joe Wilson’s last day as director of the Emergency 911 Center will be Dec. 29, and the 911 Board is now seeking a replacement for the man who has served as the only person to lead the center.

The board met Wednesday and decided to form a committee to receive requests to replace Wilson, who began working with the Emergency 911 system 22 years ago.

Until a new director is named, assistant Emergency 911 system director Sherry Maxfield will serve in that capacity. Oddly enough, Maxfield was hired the same day as Wilson in 1995.
