Topping our news today…

On Thursday morning at approximately 2:47AM, deputies responded to a residence on Eagle Park Drive in reference to a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, deputies found a male victim (age 55) who had been stabbed twice with wounds to the neck and chest. He was taken to Tennova Hospital in Cleveland, and then to Erlanger in Chattanooga.

The suspect, Christopher West (age 33), was detained and questioned on the scene.  A female witness in the home was also questioned by detectives.

It was determined that the victim and the female witness are the residents of the home, and are the parents of the suspect.

Mr. West came to the home in an attempt to defuse an argument between his parents.  The situation escalated between he and his father, leading to the two going outside to fight.

During the altercation Mr. West produced a Swiss Army pocket knife, and stabbed his father twice. After the stabbing he applied pressure to the wounds while his mother called 911.

The investigation is ongoing.

Christopher Anthony West was arrested and charged with 1 count of Aggravated Domestic Assault.  He is currently being held in the Bradley County Jail where he awaits an arraignment tomorrow morning.  No bond has been set at this time.
