Bradley County’s COVID-19 active case count rose by 65 from last week, according to the latest report from the Tennessee Department of Health on Wednesday, Oct 5.

As of Oct. 1, Bradley County has recorded 37,172 total coronavirus cases since the pandemic began, as well as 1,080 hospitalizations — up one from last week — and 434 deaths.

TDH’s weekly report reflects cases reported Sept. 25 to Oct 1.

Due to the number of at-home tests, cases likely are underreported, public health officials say.

Among Bradley County students ages 5-18 as of Sept. 29, there were nine cases over the past 14 days.

Bradley County’s average positivity rate as a whole dropped from 13.4% to 9%.

Since March 2020, 2,341,354 Tennesseans have tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in 27,872 deaths.
