Focus areas are to create a culture that supports language and content development for English learners, provide ongoing professional development opportunities for ESL teachers, and strengthen connections between schools and families of English learners. Updates were also given on the COVID plan: Rapid and PCR tests are being offered to staff and students at any Cleveland City school. As of Monday, 34 staff members were out due to COVID-19. And finally, officers were elected for the school board, with Dawn Robinson named Chairman, Nate Tucker named Vice-Chairman, and Krista McKay named Chairman Pro-Term. All were unanimous.
