Mix 104.1 spoke with City Manager Joe Fivas about the Cleveland City Council’s recent decision to move City Hall to the former Cherokee Hotel.
The former Cherokee Hotel will be the new Cleveland City Hall in 2024.
Earlier this week, the Cleveland City Council unanimously approved a resolution to appropriate up to $6.1 million in ARP funds and $2 million in bond funds to renovate the Cherokee Hotel to house city government and serve as a venue for social events.
City residents will be able to pay taxes and acquire permits all in the same building. Now, the City is utilizing 4 different buildings.
The current municipal building will be used by the Cleveland Police Department.
