The Cleveland City Council met on Monday covering several items of business. It was discussed that some annexations made by the city have not been calculated into the census, leading to incorrect numbers. The city is making sure the right information is given to the Federal government to insure an appeal reveals the correct population for the census. During a presentation by CIty Manager Joe FIvas, he recommended giving a $1000 bonus to all full-time city essential employees. The bonus will be given after ARP money is received which should be before the holidays. Councilman May motioned to amend the resolution to raise the bonus to $2000 for each full-time city employee and that ALL city employees are deemed essential. His motion passed 7-0. We spoke with Cleveland Mayor Kevin Brooks after the meeting.
