The Bradley County Commission met Monday, covering several items of business. Bradley County Mayor D. Gary Davis gave an update on COVID-19 in the county, indicating there were 54 active cases as of meeting time. Resolutions to approve the low bid for the first portion of roof work at the Justice Center, as well as to approve the Cintas contract renewal for fire uniforms, both passed 14-0. Community member Vernon Lee spoke to the Commission about the fire service tax, and how he is nearly 2 miles from the nearest hydrant. He would like the county to consider the issue before renewing the fire service tax. Commissioners answer his questions and note that some improvements are already in progress.
