Rich Randall, Sunday afternoon host and weekday fill-in, began his career in radio in 1965 at Radio Gypsy, an armed forces radio station in South Korea near the DMZ. He also worked for the AFRS station in Saigon when that station was rebuilt after being blown up by Viet Cong in mid 1965. One of his first shows was the morning show - which went on to become the Dawnbuster Show with Adrien Cronour and then Pat Sajak, among others, doing the show through the years, and the Country Cavalcade, an all night country and western music show on AFRS - later named AFVN. After his Army tour, Rich began his civilian career with KYSN Radio (Top 40) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. During the ensuing 40 years, Rich has worked for some of the best radio stations in the country, covering 7 states, arriving in Tennessee in 1979 and Cleveland in 1982. Among his Cleveland/Chattanooga highlights, Rich played the last contemporary song on Q-101 (WQLS-FM - WCLE-FM's first incarnation) and the first county song on US-101(WUSY-FM), as the station changed formats and call letters at 6am in the morning. He was the original program director and morning show host for Alive-95 (WALV-FM) when it fist signed on, and the original program director and morning show host on Oldies 103.1 when it went on the air here. From 1997 until 2005 Rich worked for KZ-106 as local co-host of the hugely successful John Boy & Billy Show, followed by a 6-month tour as producer of The Morning Press and FRED the Show on Talk Radio 102.3 (WGOW-FM). Rich retired from the business in 2004 and spent a year in Atlanta as an instructor at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting/Atlanta Campus before returning to Cleveland in 2005. In 2006 he began the online newspaper, ClevelandNewsNow.net, with partner Louis Lee. After intense pressure by Steve Hartline, Rich agreed to return to the airwaves on Sunday afternoon where he "provides the soundtrack" for people "out doing ' their thing" ion Sunday afternoons. In addition to the great mix of music, Rich also features an artist, group or other category of music in his "MIX 104.1 Sunday Spotlight." Rich also produces
"Common Sense with Chris Weir" on Saturday mornings on MIX 104.1.
